Almost 6,000 books distributed to 1,266 students at Rocky River and Wolf Meadow Elementary schools this year as part of our Reading+Mentoring 4 Success 10 Book-a-Palooza events. Research has shown that the number of books in a student's house is a greater predictor of reading proficiency than even parents education or socioeconomic level. That is why it is important that we help build at-home libraries. 74% of students served through this program come from low-income families who might not be able to afford to purchase books for their children. As a community, coming around these students helps set them up for success!
