What does it cost to participate in Recess Cabarrus?
The costs associated with Recess Cabarrus are dependent on how you choose to participate. Sponsorship packages bundle multiple ways to participate at a reduced cost. Individual costs are:

What is the last date for me to register my team?
The deadline for registering teams is Friday, March 29th.
How do I put together my Recess Cabarrus team?
Teams should have a minimum of 10 members but there is no limit on the total number of team members. This allows teams to coordinate with member's availability and participation desires. Team members can be coworkers, family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, etc. It is up to you!
Each event has individual requirements as to how many will compete in the particular game and team composition for the team so as you put your team together keep these requirements in mind:
What games will teams compete in? Do I have to play in all the games?
This year's events include kickball, dodgeball, sand volleyball, obstacle course, tug-of-war and pyramid soccer. As long as your team has enough team members, you do not have to play in all games but we recommend you speak with your team captain on specific details.

What do the teams wear?
Team members should all wear the same color of t-shirt such as red, navy blue, white, bright yellow, etc. They do not have to be matching shirts other than for the color. We do expect a lot of families on site so please be modest in your clothing selection.
How are points awarded and champions determined?
For each game, teams will be rewarded with points depending on their final placement. All events are worth the same maximum number of points.
The team with the most points will be crowned Grand Champion.
An event champion is awarded for each event to the winning team in the event final.
What awards will be presented?
The Recess Cabarrus Grand Champion will receive a Championship Award. Individuals from these teams also receive medals. Each event champion team will be awarded a trophy. Awards will be presented at 2:45pm during the closing ceremonies. We would love to have your entire team attend!
What are my responsibilities as Team Captain?
Team Captain responsibilities include:
- recruiting team members
- determining who will participate in which games
- gathering liability release forms for all teams members
- attending the team captain meeting - date to be announced later (a substitute may be sent if necessary but all teams must have a representative at the meeting)
Is there a schedule of events available?
A schedule will be released after the closing of the team entries on March 29th. Please check back at that time.
Will food and drinks be available at Recess Cabarrus?
Yes, we will have snacks and drinks available for purchase that day at a minimal cost. Through our partnership with Gordon Foods we are able to offer all types of snacks including healthy options such as fresh fruit and snack bars. Food trucks will be onsite for lunch. Remember this is another great way to for individuals to support CCEF as all money raised goes directly to CCEF programs.
What is Recess City and when is it open?
Recess City is an expo of local businesses and organizations that want to share their products and services with guests. Recess City will be open from 9:00am - 2:00pm on April 13th at Frank Liske Park. Often the booths are interactive and fun. Businesses may also choose to sell items at the expo. All transactions are completely between the business and individual purchaser as CCEF does not endorse any product, service, etc.
