Where are you from? Where did you study?Wilson

I am from Dallas NC. I studied Mathematics & Science Education at Western Carolina University.

Have you always wanted to teach?

Yes, ever since I was a child I always wanted to be a teacher.

What personal strengths do you find especially helpful in your teaching?

I am a very organized person and I operate very efficiently. It is critical for a teacher to be organized so that the lack of organization does not disrupt students from learning.

How do you stay current in your field?

On a regular basis, I study additional research on my content. I am currently a member of the North Carolina Science Teachers Association and the National Science Teachers Association. These organizations keep me up to date on science pedagogy and science content.

What do you like best about Winkler Middle?

The best thing I love about Winkler Middle is the willingness of the staff to support engaging lessons and activities. Every project that I have done this year, the staff has supported me and gave the strength needed to carry them out with my students.

What do you plan on doing over the summer?

I will actually be working part time for Cabarrus County Schools grading summer paperwork and working my other part time job at the new Amazon Sort Center in Concord. I do plan to take a trip to the mountains to see my old university. Also, towards August, I will vacation to Sunset Beach, NC.

And last but not least...
What are the top three musical genres/radio stations programmed in your car, on your Pandora playlist, etc.?

I listen to XM Radio and my three top channels are Hits 1, Venus, and TheHeat
