Where are you from? Where did you study?Stoker

I am originally from Winston-Salem, NC. I graduated from Appalachian State University.

Have you always wanted to teach?

I have wanted to be a teacher since kindergarten. Growing up I always admired my aunt and uncle because they were teachers. I played school every chance I could with my younger brother as my student. He didn’t quite like school as much as me.

What personal strengths do you find especially helpful in your teaching?

My general love for school and students, my sense of humor, strong work ethic, and passion for performing are personal strengths that help me daily in the classroom.

What do you think is the greatest challenge facing students today?

Bullying and fitting in.

What do you like best about Mount Pleasant Middle?

Teaching theatre! Great kids! Great administration!

What do you plan on doing over the summer?

Catching up on books and plays that I need to read, working on projects around the house, planning for next school year!

And last but not least...

What are your favorite ways to “de-stress”?

Baking sweets, watching marathons of Law and Order SVU and Criminal Minds, playing with my cats, yard sales, and consignment shopping!
